Family Hotel BalMax was opened in 1995 - one of the first hotels in the town. It is owned by Rayna and Dimitar Balevi family. Dimitar Balev is a honoured citizen of Bansko since year 2004. Rayna Baleva is a socially active person for many years, having an acknowledged part in the development of Bansko into a modern resort and winter ski centre.

Prominent public people, politics and sportsmen, having prestigious awards of World competitions and Olympiads have been guests of the hotel.
